More about Simran Makwana (Practicum)
Feeling understood can be the beginning of meaningful change. Therapy offers a space to slow down, put experience into words and make sense of what may feel confusing or overwhelming in your mind.
I work with adults navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, relationships, life transitions, and emotional regulation. I have a particular clinical interest in adult ADHD, especially among individuals who receive a diagnosis later in life and are beginning to make sense of experiences that may have felt confusing or difficult for years.
My approach is collaborative and integrative, drawing from cognitive-behavioural, trauma-informed, attachment-based, and psychodynamic perspectives. I tailor therapy to each person's needs and strive to create a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences, developing greater self-understanding, recognizing their strengths, and building practical tools for meaningful change.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and M.Psy. candidate at Adler Graduate Professional School. I have an M.Sc. in Psychology from India. I provide services at Longwood Psychology under the supervision of Dr. Emily Segal, Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist.
